Introduction
Ta’awuniya Insurance Company provides a set of takaful coverages (group or individual) tailored to employees, including newly introduced coverages in the Sudanese insurance market.
General Meaning of Takaful
Takaful is mutual cooperation among participants to alleviate harm and provide support in line with Islamic Sharia principles, based on solidarity within the community.
Product Types
- Group Takaful
This product provides mutual support and compensation when covered events occur, such as natural/accidental death, disability (as defined by the policy), listed critical illnesses, and certain cases related to the death of a dependent—based on benefits/amounts agreed in the policy for each case.
Issuance Requirements
- An employee list including (name – date of birth).
- Define the benefit/sum insured payable upon covered events.
- Minimum number of participants: (100) persons.
Claims (Compensation)
- Natural/accidental death: employer letter/notification + death certificate + legal declaration & power of attorney.
- Total permanent disability: employer letter/notification + medical report confirming disability.
- Temporary total disability: employer letter stating the period + medical commission report or treating physician report.
- Critical illnesses: employer letter/notification + medical report.
- Death of a dependent: employer letter + death certificate + beneficiary ID + proof of family relationship.
- Takaful for Secured Loans (Mortgage/Advances)
This product protects secured loans/advances by settling the outstanding loan balance to the bank in case of death or total disability (as defined by the policy) during the coverage period, and helps reduce risks related to seizing mortgaged assets or recovering amounts from the deceased’s family/heirs.

- Loan details: (employee name + loan amount + date of birth).
- Coverage can be arranged as group or individual.

- Natural/accidental death: employer letter/notification + death certificate + outstanding loan balance.
- Total permanent disability: employer letter/notification + medical report + outstanding loan balance.
