Travelers Insurance Policy
A takaful-based system designed to protect travelers against specified risks.
Concept of Coverage
This service is among the newest and most important insurance services, with increasing demand due to frequent travel—especially to EU countries—where some embassies require travel insurance as part of visa application requirements.

Medical Services & Assistance
- Hospital admission, surgical procedures, and pharmacy medicines outside the country of residence due to a sudden accident or illness.
- Emergency dental treatment outside the country of residence.
- Medical evacuation/transfer to a properly equipped medical facility as required, or repatriation to the usual country of residence.
- Costs of sending medicines and delivering urgent treatment-related messages.
- Travel costs for a family member if the insured is hospitalized and remains admitted.
- Repatriation of remains in case of the insured’s death, or emergency return in case of the death of a first-degree family member.
Trip Cancellation & Delay
- Coverage for trip cancellation outside the usual country of residence.
- Coverage for departure delays exceeding (4) hours outside the usual country of residence.
Baggage
- Compensation for loss of baggage, passport, driver’s license, etc. outside the country of residence.
- Compensation for delayed baggage arrival outside the country of residence.
Personal Accident
- Death while staying outside the usual country of residence.
- Permanent total or partial disability while outside the usual country of residence.
Issuance Requirements
- A valid passport (issue date and expiry date).
- Destination country to be insured.
- Policy start and end dates.
Policy Cancellation
The policy may be cancelled if the insured cannot travel and provides supporting documents from the relevant embassy at least (24) hours before the policy start date, along with:
- The original policy.
- An embassy letter explaining the reason for visa refusal.
A refund is processed after deducting issuance/cancellation fees (as stated).
Guidance
- In case of a medical emergency or accident, go to the nearest medical center and contact one of the service centers listed in the policy to coordinate admission and treatment costs.
- If contact is not possible, pay the costs and, upon return, submit a claim with original invoices and a hospital medical report including the hospital name, doctor, and diagnosis.
